Unlike other Alliums, Summer Drummer does not produce a whorl of flat leaves instead, the plants closely resemble those of a 'Leek'. Dense light purple flowers with each individual floret tipped with a creamy white edge. Flowering time is late July/August. Very useful for the back of a border or even in the middle of one to make a feature of it. We have them in the middle of flower beds, and they look like living sculptures. Great for Bees and other insects. Height 48-60" (120-150cm). This variety has performed very well in the Wisley Allium trial.
