Our Nursery is open this week from Monday to Friday for sales of Allium Bulbs.
Alternatively, orders placed before Thursday will be shipped this week.
Allium bulbs are planted in the Autumn, they like a warm, sunny site and a well-drained soil, plant the bulbs about 10 cm's deep. In the Spring the leaves will emerge, which slowly die back as the flower spikes grow, for this reason, it is a good idea to plant the bulbs with other plants. Some varieties can start flowering from around the middle of May, others can be as late as August. After flowering the bulbs become dormant during which they do need a period of warm dry rest. We supply the biggest bulbs available to flower in the first year, with good conditions they will provide further, and bigger flowers years to come. The flowers of Alliums are extremely attractive to Bees and Butterflies.
Please note some varieties are sold in packs of 10 bulbs, others are by the bulb, details of pack sizes can be seen in the descriptions.
For this season we are packing all our Allium Bulbs in paper bags, they are easy to recycle and much less polluting than plastic.
