Maya
Here at our Nursery we always grow Maya in patio pots, which are placed in a cold greenhouse from the end of November until early April, this just gives them a bit of protection, from the worst of the Winter They make a super plant for large containers, dwarf habit with flowering stems up to 30 cm tall which will make a real focal point on any patio. Best with some form of protection in Winter. Inticancha's and princess's are hardy down to -5 so they will need some protection in winter as we often get to -8.
For 2025 we will have jumbo plugs available from mid march to mid April and plants in 11cm pots from mid-May.
Jumbo plugs are a good way to save money for experienced gardeners who can grow them in a heated greenhouse, but they are not suitable for planting straight outside. We recommend planting them into 11cm pots upon arrival and keeping them at a minimum temperature of 12c, by around the middle of May they should be ready for planting outside.
