Barbarry Neon
Last Spring a friend who exhibits Dahlias had a plant of Neon to try it proved to be a great variety producing exhibition-quality blooms. relatively short growing at around 1.m with ramrod stems and nonfading flowers. Definitely worth trying both in pots and borders. Produces good tubers but is a bit shy with throwing cuttings, having said this those that are produced are easy to root.
Supplied as top-quality homegrown tubers grown in 11cm pots, they can either be started early in a heated greenhouse for producing cuttings or stored frost-free for planting outside in May, where they will grow into full-sized plants. Pot-grown tubers are compact so they don't suffer from broken necks and are gall free.
