Corms - Zantedeschia Calla Lilies
Zantedeschia corms (Cala Lilies) are available from late March, initially they need growing inside, but as soon as the threat of frost has passed they are best outside. Many types are available, from short growing pot plants, to big tall growing garden plants, here at H.W.Hyde and son we specialise in the latter. During the last 2 years many varieties have been trialed by the RHS at their Wisley Garden. The results of which have been very interesting, some varieties did very well, others not. 'Sumatra', 'Picasso' and 'Memories' all deserve a special mention. Zantedeschia's have become very popular, in recent years, both as Garden plant and cut flowers. The first flowers start appearing in mid June, often they will continue to produce flowers all summer. Zantedeschia corms are not hardy and hate being waterlogged, they need growing in free draining soil/compost and the corms must be kept dry in Winter away from frosts. Full growing instructions are sent with every order.
