Species Martagon from the far East, often used in breeding to creat other colours in this group, lovely golden flowers with small black markings, about 6 Cm's in diameter, as with all martagons the bulbs can take a year or so to get established, but when they have martagons tend too be very long lived and increase well, needs a good humus rich alkaline soil, to do well, grows to about 1 metre when established and can have 15 or more flowers on a stem, which are produced in June. bulb size 16 cm +.
