Species Lilium that closely resembles L. Pumilum, produces lots of very small, deep orange Turks Cap flowers, each of which are about 3 Cm's in diameter, nice perfume but a bit variable in growth, some bulbs can easily produce stems up to 80 Cm's tall, while others will only get to about half this size, short lived but can flower in two years from seed, flowers late May to early June. bulb size 12 cm +.

So called 'Orienpet' originally from the USA, medium sized, downwards facing flowers, about 15 Cm's in diameter, unlike standard O.T. hybrids 'Orienpets' tend to take a year or so to really get going, it is quite normal for them to produce quite weak stems in the first season, with only a few flowers, but when they get established they get much better, often reaching heights over 1.5 metres and they can have 20 or more flowers on a stem, flowers from early August onwards. Bulb size 20 cm +.
Regarded by many as one of the most beautiful off all species, delicate lantern shaped flowers about 6 Cm's in diameter, it's tall elegant stems grow about 1 metre tall and emerge from a scaly rhizome, these are very brittle and need careful handling, to do well the rhizomes need planting in a well drained acidic soil, they must never dry out but equally must not get waterlogged, a real challenge to grow, flowers from late June onwards, rhizome size 12 cm +.
A variety with two names, in 2009 it was called 'Purple Fountain', now it has been renamed 'Hotline', (by the breeder, not us !), produces lots of medium sized flowers which are about 16 Cm's in diameter, nice strong stems which grow to about 90 Cm's from newly planted bulbs and about 1.2 metres when established, one real benefit of this variety is that the purple edge is stable in hot weather, unlike the flowers of the old variety 'Brasillia', which can turn pure pink, flowers late July onwards. Very nice Martagon hybrid with deep red Turks cap flowers, well marked with various shades of gold, about 7 Cm's in diameter, as with all martagons the bulbs can take a year or so to get established, but when they have martagons tend too be very long lived and increase well, needs a good humus rich alkaline soil, to do well, grows to about 1.5 metres when established and can have 30 or more flowers on a stem, which are produced in June. bulb size 12 cm.
